About

Founded by Abhisar Kalal and led by Managing Trustees Abhisar Kalal and Shital Abhisar Kalal — serving humanity with compassion from Ahmedabad since 2013.

Care that restores dignity

Established on 16 May 2013 and formally recorded with its registration certificate (24 June 2014), Avval Foundation is a purpose-driven non-profit organization in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Rooted in the philosophy ‘જન સેવા એજ પ્રભુ સેવા’ (Service to humanity is service to God), it works to uplift abandoned elderly individuals, orphaned girls, and economically disadvantaged communities.

Our founder and driving force, Abhisar Kalal, began community service early in life and built Avval with one central idea: care that restores dignity and independence to the vulnerable. Today he leads the foundation together with Managing Trustee Shital Abhisar Kalal.

Why we exist

Elderly abandonment, food insecurity and lack of dignified access to basic resources are persistent problems in cities — Avval creates practical systems (homes, food cards, programs) to address them.

How Avval Foundation began

Since their young age, trustees of Avval Foundation, Shree Abhisar Kalal was very much active in social service. Along with their routine life, they use to spare time to visit various social service centers, which provides support to differently-abled children, ignored women and Old age homes. It was then they came across the issue that elderly with partial disability (mental & physical) were not getting admission into any of the city-based Old age homes and they had to suffer.

Therefore, with this specific purpose of providing shelter and support to partially disabled (mental & physical) elderly, Avval Foundation was formed and was registered as a NGO in May 2013.

In May 2018, Avval Foundation has completed its 5 years and has provided shelter and support to more than 200 Ignored Elderly so far. Currently, we operate in Rented premises located in Ghatlodia area with a capacity to accommodate 35 people. We have waiting list of more than 20 Elderly who seek admission but due to space constraint, we are unable to admit them.

We are approaching the Government, Fundraising agencies, Corporates & People for getting support to get our own space and Build an Old age Home, which can accommodate more than 100 people and can have more facilities to ease the life of elderly ones. Your support for this cause can make difference in many lives.

In 2025, Shital Abhisar Kalal and Abhisar Kalal initiated Avval Kanya Gruh in Ranip, Ahmedabad — a safe, caring and dignified home for girls with education and life-skills support.
